There are a number of roles within the BWWA Inc. Community Leadership Group which help to improve the experience of our members and casual meet attendees. Volunteer a few hours each month, make friends and develop your babywearing skills - you won’t regret it!

Peer Educators are responsible for facilitating meets, demonstrating carriers and helping attendees get their carrier fitted comfortably and safely. This role requires training to be facilitated by a qualified babywearing consultant as required.

Administrative Leaders are responsible for welcoming attendees to meets, assisting with sign in and getting comfortable, and directly them to the relevant demonstration within the meet. This role may also involve ensuring attendee numbers are within current venue restrictions, directing attendees to nearby coffee and toilet facilities and supervising of toddlers and older children.

Digital Library Assistants will need to be trained in the use of our SeTLS Digital Library Management System in order to assist with membership purchases and signing carriers in and out of our lending library at meets. It is relatively easy web-based software, and the role will require the use of your own internet-enabled phone or tablet. Most of our meets are held at local government venues with free WiFi facilities.

Online Babywearing Assistants come onboard to help with administration and moderation of our Facebook Chatter Group and/or Buy, Swap and Sell Group. This role requires regular use of Facebook and a degree of babywearing knowledge, which can be obtained over time with minimal effort. Primary responsibilities of these roles include monitoring friendly and helpful communication between group members, ensuring group rules are followed by all, approving/deleting group requests and sales listings, and answering questions related to carrier fit advice, specific carrier styles or techniques, market value, meet dates/information and more.
